The Spinoff Anime That Was Unjustly Scorned – Handa-kun

While most anime fans tend to agree that Barakamon is the bee’s knees, the same cannot be said for its spinoff series – Handa-kun. But is it really as bad as some people claim?

Handa-kun tells the story of Sei Handa, a boy who’s hated by just about everyone, or so he believes. In actuality, he’s the most popular kid in school and is admired by his peers for his impeccable calligraphy skills, good looks and cool personality. But thanks to his friend Takao Kawafuji (tak-a-o cower-fuji) (who you may remember from Barakamon) he perceives all of this admiration as bullying and subsequently shuts himself away from his classmates. However his efforts to distance himself from others only ever seems to backfire – drawing more attention to himself and converting even the most sceptical of students into devoted followers.
